Huge congratulations to Fay Hield, who made it in to the inaugural Folk Albums Chart at number 6 with her latest album Wrackline.

The chart was revealed last Saturday in a special livestreamed launch show which was hosted by Mark Radcliffe from HOME in Manchester. It featured stunning live performances both in the venue in front of a socially-distanced audience, and from artists’ homes across the UK with performers included Fay Hield, Kris Drever, VRi and The Breath.

You can watch the full livestream below and head to just after 1 hour and 13 minutes to watch Fay’s performance of Hare Spell.

The Official Folk Albums Chart aims to do more than recognise the popularity of the genre. Running parallel with the chart are English Folk Expo and Showcase Scotland Expo’s initiatives for providing career development tools for emerging artists in the genre. Both will provide dedicated web pages addressing the need for profile enhancement and chart inclusion.
